Some skills are best learned where they naturally occur. Community-based therapy allows children to practise regulation, communication, social skills and independence in meaningful everyday environments.
Sessions may support:

• Shopping and community access skills
• Emotional regulation in busy environments
• Social confidence and friendship skills
• Flexibility when plans change
• Safety awareness and independence
• Participation in hobbies, sport and leisure activities

• Cafés and restaurants
• Parks and playgrounds
• Beaches and community spaces
• Shops and local businesses
• Recreational and sporting environments
